Background: My FMP is based on special experiences as im off to New York with college; it’s the one place I’ve always wanted to go so my FMP is about NYC. My look at NYC will entail the American culture, landmarks and what makes NYC life. While im there im going to collect my primary research though photos and record though blog entries. I will be looking into New York people traffic, and different villages such as Brooklyn and Williamsburg, iconic places and items such as NYC taxi, Brooklyn Bridge and many more and most importantly the Big Apple itself. My research will go further by looking at fashion and fashion week and TV / Broadway which New York is famous for. Focus: For my final piece im using screen prints of the main landmarks of New York to create a newspaper called the Vaines Voice which inside will include screen prints inspired from my primary research in a layout of a newspaper, I want to create my own version of the New York Times but mine will be documenting my visit. To support my newspaper im wanting to create fashion accessories such as a collection of silk scarves using Devore Process and Jewellery using iconic screen prints and heat transfers inspired from my research and time in New York.
